NespressGo by Nespresso: Making Mornings Easier

Nespresso is one of my all-time favorite companies. Knowing I have coffee on-demand is what gets me out of bed on those early Monday mornings. For my IMC 306 final project, it was only fitting to pay homage to my beloved caffeine provider and create a newer and smarter product for Nespresso.

Introducing NespressGo

Harnessing the power of smart devices and technology like Google Home and Amazon’s Alexa, I created a campaign to make Nespresso the next smart home device. NespressGo is a wifi controlled machine that allows you to fill up your coffee cup from your phone!

The Problem ~ No one likes to get out of bed in the morning

I am very much the person who likes to maximize time in bed. But this problem is not unique to me. Tons of consumer segments struggle to get out of bed in the morning.

Sometimes all it takes is a morning cup of joe, and clearly, I’m not the only one who thinks so…

The Product

The machines operate similarly to other wifi connected smart devices and require a secure network. Once NesspressGo is activated, users have the ability to fill up their coffee directly through the Nespresso app without having to step foot in the kitchen.

This advertisement will show groggy mornings with multiple alarms going off, college students rolling out of bed while the NesspressGo app fills up. The video ends with a satisfying sip of tasty espresso to get the busy student out of the door.

The ad will be a short, snappy, video of a business man/woman struggling to get out of the house. Featuring a brief getting ready montage of putting on a blazer, opening the Nespresso app, clicking the NesspressGo fill button, grabbing their coffee and heading out the door.

This video will depict a mother trying to get her kids ready for school in the morning. Hectic scenes of lunchboxes being thrown, backpacks getting pulled on and shoes lacing up spliced together with footage of the NespressGo app tracking the coffee fill-up process. A satisfying sip of espresso will end the video just as the kids head out the door.

You know what they say… if it’s not broken don’t fix it. George Clooney’s celebrity endorsement of Nespresso is so iconic that I decided to work with the content I already had. I was able to create a humorous visual campaign that represents the power of Nespresso’s espresso on morning morale.

The App in Action

NespressGo is a digital and physical experience. Combining the classic Nespresso machines with smart technology so users can remotely fill up their cup of coffee from their smart device. Watch how it works below:

Using AdobeXD I mocked up what the Nespresso app would look like with an auto-fill feature, so users can fill up their coffee cup from the comfort of their own bed.
